The role of an internal audit throughout the H&S Management System life cycle is crucial to ensure that the processes are managed effectively, adhere to the standard requirements and help the business to achieve its objectives. It is a powerful tool to calibrate adoption of planned best practices and provide valuable feedback about the organization’s health and safety culture and the real effectiveness of the system.

Course Objectives
This course will teach students the principles, required skills and behaviors to become an effective internal auditor. Students will learn how to evaluate and improve and organization’s health and safety management system by adopting the right best practices to prepare an audit, collect meaningful information, conduct the audit and prepare accurate reports, while adapting their interview and communication skills to achieve their objectives.

Materials
Students will get access to electronic materials online for reference during and after the course. Although ERM CVS will make an effort to have standards available to the students for reference during the course, due to copyright, it is expected that students bring their own standards to the course. Students are required to have webcam and microphone available and on during the course.

Prerequisites
